Define success

success
səkˈsɛs/
noun
  1. 1.
the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

Is it the recognition?
Is it the fame or the fortune?
Is it the good job?
What is it?

I’m currently in a season where God is trying to tell me about myself (literally). It’s so easy to get drawn in by all the background noise, to the point where it becomes harder to pull yourself out. This current season in my life has really been teaching me a lesson or two, and I’ve been questioning my own desire for success. Is it really a desire of my own? Is it what I’ve been fed? Or is it for my own vanity?

Has my longing for success ever been in line with Gods plan?
If I’m being honest it hasn’t.

The word success or being successful is thrown around a lot. Everyone strives for it, we’re taught from an early age that success is completing your education, getting a good job and settling down. However, the internet has also taught us that success is “making those money moves” or being acknowledged.

For so long I’ve looked through the lens of my environment, to the point where I failed to recognise Gods line of success for me.
